Time to Say Goodbye

Today I have to announce some changes for me on the internet, that are somewhat sad, but also feel like a relief for me. First I'm saying goodbye to my Etsy shop. I've been with Etsy since 2010, and have had some moderate success off and on over the years. But, lately it's been more off than on, and now they have made some new changes that are forcing me to make this decision. Etsy has decided to make sellers use their checkout or their shop will be closed. I've always just used PayPal. I wouldn't mind doing this except that would mean I would have to connect a bank account to my shop, and I don't want to do that. So, now it seems my hand has been forced. So I've decided to close my shop by the end of the month. I will continue to sell on Society6, so please check it out if you are interested!

The second change is that I will be ending my blog. I know this may seem surprising, but again, my hand is being forced on this too. Ever since Google took over Blogger I've had nothing but problems, one being that they keep having issues with my payment form for storage. The most recent issue could probably be cleared up if I really wanted to deal with it, but to be honest, I don't want to. My heart just isn't in the blog anymore, as you may have already noticed. I only post twice a week at most, and more often it's only once. I feel like my time could be better spent on other social media, my painting, and my home life.
But I will still be on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest. In fact, I will be using Facebook as a sort of blog replacement. I've never been one to write lengthy posts (except today), so this will work  better for me anyway. Of course, I will still follow all of your blogs, as I wouldn't want to miss out on any of your great blogs!

So, this will be my last post for the blog. And I just want to thank everyone who has visited over the years. Bye! xoxoxo

What I Wore

We had absolutely gorgeous weather this weekend, so I grabbed the chance to wear my newest dress from H&M! When I saw this blue and white gingham dress I just had to have it. And since the day was a bit chilly in the morning I layered it over a plain white tee.

What I Wore

The weather on Easter weekend was very spring like with rain, sunshine and a quick thunderstorm. The mornings are still cold, so I had to combine a spring dress with tights and a cardigan.

Artwork Update

Recently I joined a new challenge on Instagram called #the100dayproject, where you get to pick what your challenge is. So I picked 100 days of flowers (#100daysofflowersbyLaurie). I love flowers, but I feel I can always improve my technique. One of my favorite flowers id daffodils, so I combined them with my other favorite, cats!

Dandilions  are another favorite so I thought I would work them into a surface pattern.

 Snowdrops in a terrarium.

 Cherry blossoms and a bird.

Bunnies and tulips. The last two are on Society6 if you would like to find great cards and gifts for spring, Mother's Day and birthdays!

What I Wore

It was just barely warm enough to go without tights on Saturday, so I wore my new skirt and sandals from Target. I wish I had gotten a better shot of the wedge heeled sandals, but here they are on Target's website. And here is the link to the skirt. The blouse is a vintage one I found last spring, but hadn't had a chance to wear yet.

Artwork Update

Lately I've been really keeping up with daily sketching and painting, so I have plenty to show you this week! Above is a painting I did for challenge called, "old style toys" and I chose bubble blowing. I love the spring feel to this, so I plan to put this in my Society6 shop soon. It would be great for Easter, Mothers Day or a birthday!

This grouping of lamps was very popular on Instagram and it was fun to do too.

Naturally, when the challenge is "Pet", I chose to paint a cat!

This challenge was for "sign", so I decided to try my hand at a vintage neon sign.

And lastly, for "sleeping" the first thing I thought of was, you guessed it, a sleeping cat! I'm so predictable!

What I Wore

The weather is really starting to feel like spring! It got up to the 60's on Saturday, so it was time to break out my jean jacket! I've been adding some patches as you can see below, that I found at H&M. I love how they looked!
I sure hope that the warm weather continues!

Top: F21

Denim jacket: thrifted

This doesn't happen often, but I got feline photobombed!

Artwork Update

Since I didn't get an art update post up last week, I'm going to have a bunch to show you this week!

Cactus! One of my favorite subjects!

And painting women has been another favorite!

But I always end up painting animals too, so how about a pink elephant! I will be adding some of these to my Society6 and Etsy shops soon!

What I Wore

I'm definitely itching to wear more spring colors, but the weather is still blustery. So I went with navy and red, to go with my navy plaid coat.

What I Wore

I have been searching for more skirts that I can wear in the warmer months that will go with a lot of different things and I found this cute gray skirt at F21 for $6! I actually bought one size up so that it would fit a bit looser over my tummy, even though I can wear the smaller size. I think the light gray color will be perfect for summer clothes. But for now I'm pairing it with black and white for a day in the 40s.

Artwork Update

I've been quite pleased with my latest artwork, especially the one above, "Terrarium Cat", available now in my Society6 shop!

I also really love this painting I did of a sloth, and I hope to have that listed in Society6 soon too!

Time to get back to painting! Bye for now!

What I Wore

The cold air is back, so a warm coat was needed once again. I decided to try out my new gold metallic top with this skirt that I usually wear more in the fall. I think they go quite well together!
