Welcome to Gameland

As I was getting some old games ready for the thrift,
I found this pamphlet inside one of them.
This is what we did for fun when I was little,
no computer games for us.

 We had "Easy Money"
which was similar to Monopoly.
And we had "Concentration"
which was a game show on tv.
I loved that show.

I think I also had that finger paint set,
it looks very familiar.
Which one would you like to play?

Here's a Tip

You know those crochet boot slippers I made,
well  here is a little tip.
When I finish with the pattern, I like to add an
inside cushion.
And outside I like to reinforce the sole.
Now, I used shoe cushion inserts from
a pair of work out shoes I no longer wear,
but you can use any shoe insert you like.
I like how it gives the slipper extra cushion
and makes the sole more shaped.
I also use that same insert to cut out pieces of
thick felt to make a bottom sole.
This will protect the bottom of my slippers and
make them last a bit longer.

I simply trace the insert onto the felt and cut out,
then blanket stitch onto the bottom of my slippers.
When those soles wear out, I will  make new ones
to replace them, easy peasy!

Hope you like this tip,
bye for now!

My Week

I know, I know, I haven't posted much this week.
But I did get some new booties crocheted
using up some pink yarn from my stash.
Why I have so much pink yarn I don't really know.
Not my favorite color, but they still look cute.
In fact, I'm really happy with how they turned out!
I used this pattern, though I didn't make them as tall,
and I haven't added the pom pom ties.
Not sure I will.
They are very warm and comfy!

I  also have been painting many odds
and ends around the house.
I great cure for the winter blahs.
In between all of that,
I've been helping my girl with her 8th
grade grammar, yuk!
I'm picky about grammar myself,
but sometimes the English language makes no sense!
I mean, for every rule there are at least three exceptions!

And, finally I got to see one of the bunnies
having an early morning snack.

Keep warm,
and
bye for now!

What I Wore for my Birthday

 Today I turned 54!
So yesterday, we went out and
I was treated to lunch at my favorite place
for hot hoagies, Davanni's.
Then we went for fraps at Starbucks using
one of my gift cards.
After that we spent time at Michaels for craft shopping
and Barnes and Noble for hanging out.
It was a very enjoyable day!
And, I got to wear my new dress again!
Dress and coat: H&M
Boots. tee and tights: Target
Crystal necklace: 21
Belt and purse: thrifted
Pins: vintage

I'd been looking for a cute crossbody purse,
so I was so excited to find this one at the thrift.
I also received an adorable black suede one from my
mother in law for my birthday.
I will take pix of that soon!
Thanks for all your sweet birthday wishes,
bye for now!

Just Another Winter Day

Not much going on around here,
except for taking down the Christmas.
And I don't think you want to see pix of that.
So here are some pretty winter scenes.
Above is a little bird in the bush.
It made Smoke quite happy!
I do feel a bit glad to get back to normal,
and look forward to new things,
like my birthday and Sabrina's
(she is later this month).

Well, back to work.
Bye for now!
