Mad Tea Party!

 Yay!
Today is the day!
Welcome to my tea party!
Please have a sweet nibble
and
something to sip.
Then you can have your portrait done!
Would you like to see how the other guest's
portraits turned out?
Well first we have Alice of course!
Doesn't she look sweet in her summery frock?
Then, there is that crazy Mad Hatter,
although he looks quite serious here!
And, once we got the White Rabbit to sit still,
here is the result!
Lastly, came the Queen of Hearts,
so royal and gracious!
I hope you had a wonderfully
fantastic time at my tea party!
Please feel free to check out the other
tea parties too,
Bye for now!

Road Trip Thrifting

I'm always on the lookout for thrift stores
especially in little towns.
And, we found a great one in Rushford,
on our little trip!
The lamp above is probably my favorite find,
it was only $2!

This sweet brown bag was only 50 cents!
And only 50 cents for this little owl toothpick holder!
This yarn was only 25 cents each!
 And last but not least....
this cute coffee carafe thermos was only $2!
And it works beautifully!

A Quick Trip

 A couple of weekends ago
we made a quick trip to Rushford MN,
to see hubby's grandmother.
We went by way of the river road along
the Mississippi River.
It's such a beautiful drive!
Along the way you pass through Lake City.

It's where the river widens to form a lake,
and it's the place where water skiing was invented.

 It's very picturesque!
I used Pixlr to play with the photos.

Bye for now!

A Walk in the Woods

While in South Dakota we took a number
of walks in the woods.
I wish I could do that every day!
Below is my girls collection of rocks.

 Pretty moss!
A baby pine tree growing out of a rock.
 Balancing on a log.
 Sunset in the trees.

Summer Fun

More pix from our summer trip!
My girl wanted to go to a petting zoo,
she loves animals!
Especially these little chicks!
And we managed to include a water park,

time for a swim!
And a ride on the zip line!
Going down!
 And back up again!
Bye for now!

Vintage Quilt

When I met up with my sis
on my summer trip, she gave me this vintage quilt
that her ex-mother-in-law had made.
It uses fabric from some of the clothes we wore back then,
isn't that cool!
I just love it,
thanks sis!

Summer Trip Antiquing

I did some antiquing while I was on my summer trip
and found some great vintage patterns!
I don't buy much at antique store anymore,
because I can't afford they're prices.
But I can still find sewing patterns for a good price.
I love those stocking patterns in the pic above!
And the jumper below is something I can't wait to make!
Bye for now!

More Summer Trip

These are pix taken at the Wildlife Campus
in Rapid City.
It was a lovely spot to hang out and
enjoy the beautiful day.

Bye for now!
