WAYBACK Wednesday!

This week I have a vintage album that I found at the thrift store! It came with a book on the inside! The illustrations are just fabulous!

I believe that the illustrator is Retta Worcester.

Front page of Etsy!!

Another treasury and great finds!

What a great day today was! The hubby and I went to Anoka for an estate sale and antiquing! And I came home to find I was on another treasury! But first I'll show off my finds.
First are my finds at the estate sale. Below is a great owl spoon rest, I just love it!!

I also found this Christmas tea towel with the 12 days of Christmas!

Below is a Vera napkin and some floral fabric scraps.

The yellow floral is actually a set of pillow cases from one of the antique stores in Anoka.

At that same store I found this great calendar tea towel. I had seen it last time we were there, about 6 months ago. I talked myself out of it then, but this time I knew it was meant to be!

There is a stain, but I don't care! The graphics are the best!

And, last but not least, here is my 2nd treasury! So excited!
Bye for now!

Etsy :: Treasury West List

Etsy :: Treasury West List

Yay! My first treasury!!!!

I am so excited! Thank you to Maykela! You can click on the link above the pic to see it in person. It last for 3 days I think (but don't quote me on that). I really appreciate being on a treasury, esp. with other great artists!

Boy did I have a hard time saving this screen, and I don't think I did it perfectly, but it will suffice for now!

This is the painting that was featured on the treasury, it's called "Autumn Street".

It has the same color scheme as my last owl paintings, but this is smaller, 6x6.
It's available now in my Happy as a Lark shop!

Bye for now!

Shop Update for Happy as a Lark!

I am so, sooooooooooo excited to show off my two latest paintings! They are now available at my Esty store!
The first one is titled, " Windy Owl" and I really love how this turned out. I think he really has a fun expression! And I used colors that are autumnal yet can look good all year!

These have deep sides so I made sure to paint them too!
Next, is "Owl Totem" and I really had fun making this one too!

Same color pallette (brown, orange, gold, aqua and cream), so the two would look great together on a wall!

I would be so happy if you could go check them out at my "Happy as a Lark" shop.
Bye for now!

Catching you up!

Oh, I can't believe how busy I've been! Even though Sabrina is in school, I still feel like I'm not getting enough done. But I think I actually gave myself more things on the "to do list", so it's kind of a wash. One of the things I added was drawing "what I wore today" (almost every day), and although I enjoy it, it does take time. And, as you can see in the drawing, I'm still trying to finish Halloween decorating too!
Then, after seeing all the things being crocheted on the internet blogs, I decided I wanted to get back into crocheting myself. So, I'm working on an afghan for Sabrina's bed. These are the colors she picked yellow, aqua, green, orange and fushia.

And, just to prove that I've done this before, (I started crocheting in highschool), here is the baby afghan I made for Sabrina below.

I also wanted to show this great paper towel holder I found at the thrift store, isn't it too cute!
But, even though I feel a bit rushed off my feet, I just have to take in this lazy image of Smoke. He definitely doesn't have a hard time relaxing!
Bye for now!

2 Doodles today!

Since I forgot to post my doodle yesterday, here is yesterdays and todays. Today I sketched Sabrina going off to the first day of school, 3rd grade! Wow, can't believe she's in 3rd grade already!
And here is a little owl. Bye for now!

Kitchy Kool shop update!

Here are some fun new items recently added to my Kitchy Kool store. First is a pair of dress up dolls with sleepy eyes. Aren't they sweet!
These would be great for so many crafts or altered art projects!

Then there is this instruction booklet with fab knitting patterns. These are really chic!

I really like this sweater below, esp. in that hot pink! And check out that hair!

And, doesn't she look chic in this belted number!
Hope you can check these out at my shop!

Renaissance Festival-Huzzah!

Today we went to the Renaissance Festival and had a blast! I was the first time for the hubby and the kid. I'd been twice before. It was a perfect day for it, 70's and sunny with a light breeze. First thing we did was get something to eat, and drink, as you can see below.

I want to live in those buildings! Too bad they are just store fronts like on a Hollywood set!

some of the royalty

And here is my doodle for the day, #2. What we ate today! (Actually, only Sabrina had the frozen yogurt.) Bye for now!

A Doodle a Day!

I decided to set a goal for myself to do one doodle a day, everyday. I don't know if I can actually do it, but I wanted to try and motivate myself to sketch more. Here is day 1:

I've also decided to color my hair red, a reddish blond to start with. As you can see, it actually turned out more like a light strawberry blond. That's okay, cause now I know I like red hair on me. And it's easier to go darker than lighter. So next time I will try a darker shade. What do you think?

Bye for now!

Isn't he fun!

This is a longer necklace with an extra striped wooden bead for accent.
